EMAIL #16 - 15th, OCTOBER, 2018 - We must change to grow
Hi Team,
"Everyday of our lives, we are on the verge of making those slight changes that would make all the difference", Mignon Mclauglin.
We all know that to grow and evolve we need to make changes, but even to make small changes to our daily routine and work tasks is scary and difficult. Changes take determination and effort and are conscious decisions that an individual must make for themselves.
Last week I discussed the importance of the "mise-en-place" mindset to a professional chef, and I hope you all took the time to read my article summary? This week I have summarized another E-Book by Ron Friedman Ph.D called "The Scientific Secrets For Working Less and Achieving More", (see attached). My three main learnings from this E-Book are;
- Productivity is all about working smarter not harder.
- The importance of knowing your own daily energy cycle.
- Distractions during your work day can actually be a good thing.
This Friday at the DDB Team meeting Lyle will be leading a group discussion about "the challenges of completing jobs on time". I would like you all to think about this topic and about your personal experiences when finishing building jobs, so you are well prepared for this discussion.
Thanks for reading and embrace change,
David.
