EMAIL #06 - 23RD, JULY, 2018 - Inspiration & optimism
Hi Team,
Thank you all for the great Team Meeting last Friday. I thoroughly enjoy these monthly Team Meetings and I came away from this meeting feeling that we have a really cohesive team where we are all supporting each other and pulling in the same direction. This inspired me to find the following quote which summarizes my enormous optimism for the future of DDB.
"It's not how smart the people in a business are; it's how well they work together that is the true indication of future success." Simon Sinek.
Here is a quick summary of the main discussion items from the Team Meeting.
- The results from the exercise to measure our core values performance showed us that we are a cohesive team that has a lot of pride in what we build, but we need to improve our communication and systems. Buildertrend has already helped to improve how we communicate in a more structured and systemized environment and will greatly change how we manage our jobs.
- At the recent DDB Management Meeting we locked in five main documents that must be signed off by all clients at key stages of each job. This will make it harder and more costly for the client to make changes and there will be less chance for mistakes to be made from our end.
- A new procedures document has been put into action for window pelmets + motorised blinds.
- To improve our individual work productivity we need to focus on specific individual tasks, one at a time and obsess over the details and processes for each task. (Just remember "Do less, then obsess".)
Congratulations Raph on reaching the big 50.... and a big shout out to Ofir who welcomed twin boys into the world last Wednesday, slightly premature but both boys and Tara are doing well.
